Andrew performed in his first public Cello concert recently. Emma took some photos of the performance. These can be found on the photo page. Look for Andrew in the back right of the photos.

Ricky the Range Rover has joined the family, providing a much more flexible mode of transport than the Alfa and allowing the Alfa to enjoy a well earned semi retirement. Both Andrew and Emma like it and Emma christened it Ricky. The story can be found on the newly created Car page.

1 October  2005

It's the middle of the School Holidays and so far it has been a very busy time. Andrew returned from a 6 day scout camp today (Camp West 2005). Very tired and a little dirty but he had had a great time after an initial bout of home sickness. I've lost count of the activities he did, however the computer games, market day, sailing and being on duty patrol got mentioned more than once. He also bought a disposable camera and took some nice pictures of his Troop's camp (called the Barking Owls). A few of these are on the photo page.

While Andrew was at Camp West, Emma and I went to the Royal Show. Emma had a great time going on the rides, eating fairy floss and buying a big Power Puff Girls show bag. We watched the opening and the Grand Parade with all the animals and also the Holden stunt driving team. 

We then went up to Mt Magnet for a couple of days where I had to attend an Aboriginal working group meeting. We also had time to do the tourist things, looking at the lovely spring wild flowers and visiting the Orbicular Granite quarry. I think the highlight for her though was eating at the Mess where she got to have pancakes for breakfast and tinned pineapple for a morning snack.  Some pictures of the trip can be found on the photo page.

Today was Emma's 8th birthday. Some of her presents included a new bicycle from Daddy and a large Pink Teddy from Grandma Muzz which appears to have replaced her blankey as the favourite thing to cuddle. Time will tell if this is a permanent change. In the afternoon she has a huge birthday party with lots of friends coming round. The highlight was a chocolate passion fruit birthday torte from the Cheesecake Shop. Pictures of her birthday are on the photos page.
